ZW7 405kV Built In Current Transformers for Integrated Metering and Protection

Traditional outdoor circuit breaker installations require separate current transformers mounted externally, adding complexity, cost, and potential failure points. The ZW7-40.5/35kV Outdoor High Voltage Vacuum Circuit Breaker offers an integrated solution with built-in current transformers that simplify system architecture while enhancing measurement accuracy and protection coordination .

 

The ZW7-40.5 can be configured with integrated CTs that eliminate the need for separate CT mounting structures and interconnecting wiring. These built-in CTs are available in configurations suitable for metering applications with accuracy up to Class 0.2, ensuring precise revenue-grade measurement . For protection applications, the CTs support three-phase differential protection schemes, enabling fast and selective fault detection critical for transformer and feeder protection.

The integration of CTs within the breaker's compact structure offers significant installation advantages.
